Taking the students on a sketching dare through rainy Birmingham -- BArch Year 1.
Taking the BArch Year 1 students on a sketching dare through rainy Birmingham was an exercise in both endurance and perception. Battling the drizzle and the cold, they learned to capture the city’s layered streetscapes with quick, intuitive marks, embracing the imperfections that come with drawing in the wild. The shifting reflections on wet pavements, the blurred edges of buildings through misted glasses, and the occasional ink smudge from raindrops all became part of the process—turning the act of sketching into a live, evolving dialogue with the city.
