If you had told the 20'ish year old me, 27 years ago, when I bought my first Morphosis book, that one day Thom Mayne would ask to see my work, it would have sound pure fantasy. Well, today...
Still processing the fact that Thom Mayne—someone I’ve admired since my undergrad days in the ’90s in Lisbon—wanted to step into my world and see what I’m working on. His work has been a constant source of inspiration, a reminder that architecture should challenge, provoke, and remain unapologetically experimental. To have him take an interest in my ideas was surreal and deeply meaningful. Some encounters leave a mark—this was definitely one of them.
